Does Tallow Clog Pores?

No. Tallow has a comedogenic rating of 2 out of 5, which means it won't clog your pores. Because it's bioidentical to your skin's natural sebum, it absorbs easily rather than sitting on the surface. Many people with acne-prone skin (including me) find tallow actually improves their skin by balancing oil production.

Does This Smell Like Beef

No. High-quality grass-fed tallow has a very mild, neutral scent once it's been properly rendered. Our tallow is infused with herbs and fruits like sea buckthorn, rosehip and quandong. Earth Tallow Balm is infused with a beautiful blend of essential oils like frankincense, which give it a subtle, earthy scent. You won't smell like a roast dinner.

Is this suitable for acne prone skin?

Yes. I healed my own chronic cystic acne (15+ years worth) using tallow skincare. Tallow helps repair your skin barrier without triggering excess oil production. It's non-comedogenic and won't cause breakouts. If your acne comes from a damaged skin barrier or harsh products stripping your skin, tallow can help restore balance.

Take a pea-sized amount and warm it between your fingertips. Apply to damp skin (this helps absorption) by gently pressing it into your face rather than rubbing. Or massage in with Gua Sha. Use morning and night after cleansing. A little goes a long way - one 0g jar lasts 3+ months with daily use.

The Earth Balm is the most botanically rich anhydrous formula we make. Australian grass-fed tallow is double-infused with quandong, rosehip and sea buckthorn — three of the most antioxidant-dense fruits we have access to in this country — then finished with CoQ10, a fat-soluble compound your skin recognises immediately.

It melts at skin temperature. Warm a small amount between your fingertips, press it into damp skin, and it disappears into a softening, sealing finish. Earth, frankincense and a hush of cedarwood sit underneath — grounding, never sweet.

Always spot check 24-36 hours before full use, if irritation occurs discontinue immediately. Do not apply before sun exposure, some oils can cause attraction to sun rays and burn. Avoid the eyes when applying.

Discard after 6 months of opening.

In cooler and cold weather your creams will go harder and sometimes grainy. This is normal. Store in a dry place around 22-25 degrees for the best results.

Does the Earth Balm smell like beef?

Will it feel heavy on the skin?

No. A pea-sized amount melts at skin temperature into a softening, sealing finish. Apricot kernel and castor oil are blended into the tallow to keep the texture smooth and easy to apply.

Is it safe during pregnancy?

The Earth Balm contains essential oils (frankincense, cedarwood, ho leaf). If you're pregnant or breastfeeding, our Scent-Free Tallow Balm is the formula we recommend instead.

Will the colour change between batches?

Yes, slightly. This is a fully natural product made from real botanical infusions, so colour and scent shift subtly batch to batch. It is part of working with whole plants.

How does it differ from the Rose or Lavender balms?

Same anhydrous tallow base across all four scents. The difference is in the botanical infusions and essential oil finish. Earth is the most botanically rich — quandong, rosehip, sea buckthorn and CoQ10 — with an earthy, grounded scent.

How long does one jar last?

Approximately three months with daily facial use. A little goes a long way — the formula is concentrated and a pea-sized amount is enough for the whole face.
